Solving Disputes Through Mediation
The attorneys of Keeton & Perry, PLLC serve as mediators in various matters. Mediation is a process where the mediator brings the parties together and attempt to resolve their disputes through a non-confrontational meeting.
Abraham Lincoln was quoted by saying the following: “Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser – in fees, expenses, and waste of time.”
Not every case needs to be litigated to the very bitter end. There are many cases where people have differing viewpoints that can be resolved through a neutral mediator.
Taking A Cost-Effective Route
Most civil cases will be required or strongly suggested by the judge to the parties before going to trial. The cost of mediation is usually a fraction of the cost of lengthy and expensive litigation. The cost of the mediation is usually at an hourly rate and is due in full at the conclusion of the mediation. Mediation normally lasts no more than one half of a day.
Our Mediation Experience
Greg Perry has served as a mediator in hundreds of divorce and child custody mediations, which are usually successful. Brent Keeton has served as a mediator for personal injury matters, which are also usually successful. We will listen to the issues by both sides and help the parties “meet in the middle” in a compromised resolution.
